PRIVACY NOTICE
Updated 15 October 2026
Who is responsible for your information?
Expert Barristers Ltd is the controller of personal information submitted through this website. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 14765194, with our registered office at 14 Castle Street, Bolton, BL2 1AA. Use our contact form for privacy enquiries or requests about your information. Select “Other / not sure” and describe your request. You may also write to our registered office.
Information collected
The enquiry form collects your name, email address, telephone number, selected area of law and any message you choose to provide. It also records the enquiry source and submission time. Our hosting provider may process technical information, such as IP address, browser details and request logs, to deliver and protect the website.
Please provide only a short outline of your situation. Do not include identity documents, detailed medical information, criminal records or confidential information about other people in this initial form. Further information can be requested through an appropriate channel if needed.
Why we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, discuss the help you need, arrange a quote and take steps you request before entering into a service agreement. We also have a legitimate interest in administering enquiries, securing our website and preventing misuse. Where applicable, information may be retained to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If additional sensitive information is needed, its use and the applicable legal basis will be explained at that stage.
How an enquiry is delivered
The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Form submissions pass through a server-side endpoint and are forwarded to our n8n enquiry workflow hosted on Hostinger infrastructure. These services process information to operate the website and deliver enquiries. Relevant staff and, where needed to address your request, suitable barristers or professional advisers may receive your enquiry. A barrister you instruct may provide a separate privacy notice for their work.
Hosting and service-provider infrastructure may involve processing outside the UK. You can request information about processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards through the contact form.
How long information is kept
Enquiry information is retained only for as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting service and meet applicable record-keeping or legal requirements. Relevant factors include whether you instruct a barrister, whether an enquiry remains open, and whether records are needed for a complaint or legal claim. You may request information about retention of your particular enquiry through the form.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses Google Tag Manager to load and manage tags configured by the website operator. Loading the container sends technical request information to Google. Any analytics or advertising cookies and further data collection depend on the tags and consent settings configured in that container. Fonts and images are served from this website. Hosting security services may also process technical request information.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.
Use our contact form or write to our registered office to make a request. We may need information to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Updates
We may update this notice to reflect changes to the website or information handling. The date above identifies the latest version.
